What color Ameraucana chicks did you buy Shanandgem?

I bought them from a heritage hatchery that doesn't breed for color. I would call some of them blue wheaten and some brown/red.

No specific color equals Easter Egger.

This is the rusty red coloring I was asking about. Does it always mean cockerel? They are supposed to be True Ameraucanas, NOT Easter Eggers.

I see 2 very pink combs here! Also, what color would you call the hen in front?

No, it is a blueish colored bird with leakage or other genes causing the off color.

No biggie, lol, I bought them for their blue eggs. Have to say I'm not crazy about their temperament so probably won't breed them. Although I think I have several cockerels...

If the general consensus is that this bunch is EE and not Ameraucana, I think I will cull the boys and move the girls in with my favorite barnyard mix rooster. This was my first go with hatchery birds ( I have always made a point of buying from small independent breeders) and so far I am far from impressed!
