I think your first blue boy in your pics is your best breeder!
The second boy in your pics had the bad edging, he's a little more washed out with not enough blue edging.

Ideally, each feather will be rimmed in a darker shade of blue. The crisper and deep the contrast, the better.

Funny even the hens know as they hang out with the first one I guess they know. Any opinions on the black?

As for the black, someone who is in the thick of Ameraucana breeding might have to comment. I've been out of it for a long time now. I used to have a gorgeous black Ameraucana cockerel with one major fault--base color bleed-through. Other than that, Scout was near perfect in conformation. He was out of show stock. He is the sire of my 9 year old hen, Gypsy.

For comparison with yours (if you ignore his base color showing through, that is). He was about 8 mos old here.
