Just sharing some pics of my lavender pullets. Also, curious if the standard allows for varying shades of color or is lighter (or darker) prefered.
Here are the 2 older girls. They just ate and rolled in the dirt so not the cleanest.......honestly no birds at out little farm are ever "clean" per se. But they're happy.
And the 2 younger girls (by 3 weeks)

LoL. Ty! It's terrible isn't it!? So many to choose from. I had Black.....then I had to have Blue.......now, Lavender. I know Splash isn't a recognized color (yet), but Id really like to raise them as well. The parents of my Lavenders had really nice feather quality so I'm hoping my girls produce well. Theyre looking nice despite the dirt here and molting. ....everyone is looking a tad disheveled! LoL
I know what you mean...my blue girls are always dirty. They take their dirt baths even after its rained, cuz they're weird, so they usually look like they have a couple brown feathers, lol. And YES about the different colors...when I went to pick up my blue cockerel yesterday, my breeder had a wheaten girl I just HAD to get (oops! lol), and he also tried to talk me into getting a splash roo, but I didn't have the money, or I probably would've gotten him, too
I can't stop!! I think I might be obsessed! It's probably a good thing nobody around here has LF lavenders, or I would have some already, and I DO NOT need anymore chickens right now...my DH would kill me, ha ha! But someday....

I went to bed after the second chick hatched (I was falling asleep watching the chicks) and after I could see than one was close to zipping. At exactly 4:45am something woke me. I went straight to the incubator and saw FIVE babies! Two were freshly hatched, one was damp and the first two were getting pretty fluffy.This is the first to hatch.
The egg with a question mark on it looks like it should zip pretty soon (the babies have rolled it over so you can't see the pip). Two others have pips. Two show no signs at this point, but I'm not giving up on them yet.
