Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I have a question regarding Silver Ameracauna's. Are they produced by breeding black and white? Curious if adding black or white can refine the coloration.
No. Silver is the base color, it's different from white. Black is a pattern gene. White Ameraucana are actually recessive white, modifying solid black. You need the partridge/duckwing pattern gene and the silver base color gene for Silver Ameraucana.

did see the second it seems pullet also ,just the first did not get a good side view

Cockerels. All cockerels. Ameraucana can be slow to develop. They are just a bit too young for clearly visible male feathering, and just a bit too old to have such well developed combs.
