I think that the black chick is a cockerel but I’m not 100% sure. I just found out that I can’t get the cockerel and pullets anymore so I’m thinking about getting hatching eggs from gypsy farm since I’m going to be showing them through 4-H. Their chickens seem to be good quality.
Old off on getting that cockerel until you find out both of those are pullets, just in case.

I didn't end up getting any of the other pullets or the cockerel that I was wanting. It turns out that those chickens were tested and were carriers of a disease (i don't remember which one) so I didn't get those. I did end up getting 10 BBS Ameraucana hatching eggs from Gypsy Hen. I think that 7-9 of them are looking good so far. I also think that my black ameraucana chick is a cockerel so I'm hoping to not hatch too many cockerels from the eggs. Fingers Crossed!

Okay so I need all of you opinions, I have a blue and a black ameraucana and I posted a thread for their sex and I’ve been told that they are Roos. I would like your opinions though since all of you raise ameraucanas and have more experience. I do agree that I think they may be cockerels I just want to be completely sure. The first two are the black and the second two are the blue. Thank you in advance!

That's the thing... at 8 weeks, the combs are rather large and puffy, and have good color for a cockerel. There's no male saddle feathers yet, since those won't come out until they're 12+ weeks.

Both ended up being cockerels. Are there any bbs ameraucana breeders located in Washington state on here?

Unfortunately this thread is pretty quiet these days. I don’t know of any BBS breeders in our state offhand. Have you looked at the Ameraucana Alliance and the Ameraucana Breeders Club online directories?

Edited to add: I just looked at both directories and there are a couple breeders in our state. Hopefully you’ll find what your looking for! It was a cockerel year last year for a lot of us! I hatched 70% males!!!
