got it. So this would not be "clean hackles" These ameraucanas were bred for egg color and not 'conformation'.

I think it's too soon to tell on her- but from what I've seen- the clean hackles seem to be more important on the roosters. Might not be true, just going by what I've heard people talk about. She's probably going to have great color in her tail

well that was the worst hatch of my LIFE! they all died. Live and learn I guess. I think I'm gonna hatch some ducks next then try some ameraucanas again
