I hope mine end up that nice! They've been in this reeeaaalllllly long ugly stage. They look like something from Fraggle Rock.

Oh Dak- I love the blue pullet! She's so "girly"

I'm betting my lavs will grow up to look like yours- most of them are really shaggy. I have one pullet that looks like she has tufts instead of a beard, but still really cute. Are yours super friendly? You'd think mine are part cochin- they are so sweet!

how dark or how light does the blue need to be? I have a blue pullet who is really dark I think maybe too dark I just want your opinion on this? If you would like I could post a picture or go take new ones.

I like it when the blue is dark, but not too dark to see lacing. I have a banty roo that at first glance seems black, but the beard gives him away as a blue. Not sure if it's true or not, but I would think the darker blues would be better breeders if you also have some splash birds in the mix. Anyone know how that works out? That's what I do with my BBS cochins and I seem to get good results.

I see people show the birds with really thin lacing giving the bird a lighter appearence. My little pullet she has really thick lacing and she has a darker apperance. I've been debating showing her but she doesn't have near the beard or muffs I like but she has a body style I like. I'll have to go out and take a picture.

This was taken in April she was about 4 months old then. She is about 9 months old now

it does not matter what shade of blue they are... they are still blue... if you breed splash to blue u will get a lighter blue if u breed black to blue u will get a darker blue... at shows the judges seem to prefer a darker laced blue like the pics futher up this page... but they are all still blue lol...

Love the pics everyone! Don't mean to 'bust in' on your thread, but would love to know who else on here raises bantams and possibly sells eggs? I'm still not cought up on all the thread, so please forgive me...
