Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I have bantam BBS. I'm getting Whites in October. I reserved them and I'm going to pick them up at the National Meet. Then I'm expanding into Buff bantams soon. I will sell eggs but the girls I have at the moment (only BBS) are molting.

That's wonderful, and I love the color selection. Do you have a waiting list you would consider placing me on? Thanks for the reply.

Little Ameraucana Mom selles hatching eggs too. I think she's in Indiana/Illinois? I know she has lavs, not sure on other colors.
Best to get as many lines as possible for genetic diversity.

Here is a picture of that blue pullet that I think is too dark

side note: behind her is my favorite black pullet that has won Reserve Grand Champion Bantam, Champion AOCCL at the county fair (judged by Doug Akers!) and Res AOCCL, BB, and BV at the Jr. Open show I went to this weekend....just had to brag. Both pullets are from Sally's breeding and are hatch mates. I love that little pullet

I want to show that blue one because I like her type but the color puzzles me

I do think the lavs are calmer than my blacks. Of my 11 black pullets, only a couple approach me for petting though most are very curious. The lavs crowd the fence for scratches. The cochins want to be in my lap if I hold still long enough.

Amy beat me to it..there are several of us that have true Ameraucana's in mid TN. I have my BBS girls laying and 2 of my wheaten ladies are laying..problem is I don't have them penned right now...will soon though since we are building another chicken house now

I also have some beautiful silvers but they are not laying yet..a couple look close. If you want lavs though you'll have to talk to Amy I just can't feel the love with them as much as I have tried

I also have a lone Black Bantam from little Ameraucana Mom and 12 more eggs from her in my bator so Sam can have a girlfriend next year
Here is my blue wheaten Levi..came from Speckledhen earlier this Summer-half halo chick and my wheaten hens laying now are Halo and Jean's.My BBS are Jean,Cree and Garners and my silvers are Jean's.I have to get some pics of them they are beautiful. Edited...forgot I have a beautiful wheaten roo from Jean living with the wheaten's also..he's one of the strong silent types I forget about.

My BBS pen is still laying as well. I actually just loaded up the incubator this morning with 14 BBS eggs.

I'm in Murfreesboro. My roos are from the Garner line and my hens are from the Riddick line (Pips&Peeps) and all are large fowl. I have one Cree hen left, but I'm finding that the Cree line has issues with gold leakage and crossbeak, so I've moved her into my EE pen and am no longer setting her eggs. The joy of the Cree line though is egg color. She has a black Garner roo over her, so I might try again next summer. It's just been annoying this summer.
