Ive been hatching a LOT of those "white" wheatens. My rooster is from peachick, also. Im growing out 2 blue/wheaton roos from Gary Ramey and will incorporate them, rather one of them, when old enough, and get rid of the peachick roo. I have first generations girls from him that are beautiful wheatens. Also have hatched white wheaten girls AND boys from him. Thats whats so strange is that even tho the mom and pop are wheatens, some of the babies are "white" wheatens, even the boys, so you don't know they are boys in the regular manner that you'd know with wheatens. I sold 3 of the young white ones to verlag, and inadvertently sold her a roo, because the boy color never showed up.
Im thinking its probably a recessive gene, and if so, probably both the hens and the rooster carry it. Im hoping if I switch roosters, I can eventually get rid of it. It sure is strange.
