Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I don't have an example of what I call a perfect tail, because I've yet to learn what, in shows, is actually a "perfect" tail, looking at both back, front, and side view of it.

But, I do consider this pullet of mine to have a very nice one. It has a decent cushion, but doesn't span out so side when viewing from the top, and it doesn't pinch in so narrowly to squeeze the tail together. The tail feathers them self span out well, and are of course at a nice 45 degree angle.

Best of all, her legs are set apart well, which still allows some nicely tucked in fluff, but without a rear that looks so narrow.

I need to get some photos of my other pullets. . . They've got the type of legs, rear, and tail (basically entire back end) I'm really not going to purchase again.

I've got 3 Americauna(so i think) ladies, Can everyone help me determine if they're EE's or americaunas.. I've got a white one, a brown one, and a brown/gold/black one.

Heres the white

Number one rule is that if you have any doubt/question in them being Ameraucanas or EE's, they're EE's.

The first white one can actually pass as an Ameraucana, being a recognized color (unless that second picture is the same bird) and having slate legs (from the look of things. . .) but the rest are typical Easter Egger colors.

I used to not breed for splash, but people really like the splash birds. I set up a seperate splash breeding pen last year.

For my blue and blacks, I do not use any blue birds that are the result of blue to blue breedings. I find their color to be wildly different from one bird to the next; so they are all wasters..

Here is a picture of one of my blue hens. I like them dark.
