Yes, please don't forget the pictures!!! I'm am thinking of going to my first show in June, hopefully I can find someone willing to babysit (i.e. mentor) me, since I have never shown chickens before...

Good luck!

Go and Watch Watch Watch and ask Questions of any one that looks like they might know things lol , but stay away from the judges when they are judging but they would probably be glad to talk to you when they are thru judging . When you get Brave you can ask to Clerk for one of the Judges (now that's where you can learn !!!!) It's not a difficult job at all , it takes just a few minutes to get the hang of it -the Judge will tell you exactly what to do as well as the officers of the club that are responsible for this .

Jump right in and have a good time ,
Shannon

Yep, I'm keeping the light blue and the teal colored layers. People really like the teal because they are so vibrant.

Would you have a picture of the teal eggs???

Well, I have finally finished with bird baths and getting everyone fed, primped and in comfy straw beds for the night. Even my wild-child blues who have not been handled much since they were chicks stood like champs for their baths and blow dries. I love playing beauty stylist for the chickens! I have one araucana hen who still has a chick she is caring for so I decided to take them both so as not to break the bond.

So the count is two blues females, two black females, two blue wheatens with one male and female and the three araucanas. I am thinking my girls are better than the guys of the group. Will be interesting to see what the judge thinks!
