Thank you for that link, i was just asking bc i know you have to start with true ameraucanas to get the other im sorry for bringing it up but i knew you guys would know better then i. Most people around here where i live dont have a clue about them and think that they are both in the same breed when i know they aren't. I have a ameraucana trio a splash roo a splash hen and a black hen i plan on separating them out later and starting them they are my fav color in the ameraucanas. Thank you so much for the info ill ask other questions if need on the other link until i get them separated later when they can be pure.

Any brown tones with sky blue results in a better blue.From turquoise to greenish.Too much brown and you get olive.

I love their coloring. I tried to get some chicks earlier this year but the chicks didn't make it through the post office. All mine died and I cried. I hope to get some in the future.

I have a friend who has a solitary Brown-Red bantam cock and is looking for brown-red bantam hatching eggs. Does anyone have any available or know anybody? He said he had gone through the breeder page with no luck. He had this cock at the swap yesterday and I am trying to help him so he can continue with this color variety.

If anyone has crossed Brown-red to Black, did you then breed the offspring to the Brown red parent or breed the offspring back together?

I heard somebody was working on "sex linked" birds, I am not sure they were Ameraucanas though, depends on parentage. I would ask what the cross was. That one looks like gold wild color - which is not an accepted color. I don't think its a project color either. I have seen lots of Easter Eggers that look like that, its what mine looked like.
