Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I had been changing sexes between some ameraucanas I have. First i was sure they were roosters.....a month ago they seemed like girls. Now I'm starting to think they are males again. If they are male I need one of them to be a lavender split....

Here is the blue rooster I thought I lost yesterday to a dog attack. That photo was taken yesterday before the attack. Now he lost many of his feathers and hes former glory but it's alive and seems well. Please tell me what you think about him. He is young. 7-8 months.

I think his comb is too big.
His comb looks pretty big for that age

I got my ABC bulletin.I see Jean is going to start a laced project with wyandotte.Thought I would share a pic. These are first generation.Second generation in hatching tray due monday.

I'm going for silver and blue laced.

I used a golden laced rooster over some buff project hens. The silver was a surprise and so was the lacing.Did not expect any lacing in the first cross.Denise Baker talked me into starting this project.Hoping to branch out into blue laced project.

Seven Wheaten chicks... 3 are obviously cockerels, and 3 are obviously pullets. #7 has me stumped. It is more darkly marked than the other girls, but doesn't follow the same patterns as the cockerels. Your thoughts?

I don't want to be the bearer of possibly bad news, but it looks like you may have 4 wheaten cockerels and 3 blue wheaten cockerels. Those blues have a lot of color that shouldn't be if they were pullets.
