No what I was saying is that they have each variety of Ameraucana in there own separate breeding pen.  Then when they are selling them, you get what they have available.  The chick you get out of the egg theoretically will be the same color as the parents.

Ok so does anyone on here know what age americanas start laying?

My hatchery Americanas started laying about 5 months old.  Mine are from McMurray and they lay a nice large blue egg.  I bought them spring of last year.  This thread is not used for discussing hatchery Americanas, they call them Easter Eggers on this site and they have their own thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/273489/the-ee-braggers-thread/12670#post_12024386

My purebred Ameraucanas started laying around 6 months old.  I have Lavender and Lav/Split (Black) Ameraucanas from John Blehm.  They are laying a smaller greenish egg but they just started the beginning of this month.  I have 4 Black Ameraucanas from Dak's eggs, looks like two boys and two girls - not laying age yet.

The hatchery birds are a mix so they contain leghorn blood and will lay more often and lay earlier.  They are also skinnier and smaller than the Ameraucanas I have.  Feather sexing works on them - but not on the Ameraucanas.

My lavender lays a nice blue egg, but they are still small and she is about 18 months. I don't think they get any bigger

LOL, my hair actually is blonde naturally. I dye it darker! That's why I am allowed to bust on myself! I am really smart, sometimes I wonder where my common sense is, and I can be fooled easily.

I have decided to go to the Ohio National in Columbus. I am very excited! Is anyone else going? I will be sporting my new ABC name tag!

I do not want to be attacked or challenged for wanting to help others who ask for help.I do not want people spending time looking for my mistakes and misspelled words. Please spend the time helping people who ask for help. Give your own opinion and share your knowledge to the people who ask for it. We can all learn from each other.

such a blessing to see people helping Delisha. Everyone has an opinion and they are all worth while. Ive seen allot of help going on in this thread and it makes me feel a whole lot better about reading it. So many times ive left this thread disgusted and tonight its been really nice to see such helpful people on here.

i dye mine ssometimes right now it is really light brown but so close to blonde it isnt even funny. if i dyed my hair blak im sure it would fade to blond in 2 weeks good luck at show
