Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Some if my LF ameraucanas started laying yesterday or the day before. I found 3 eggs hid in a corner. There egg colors not the best, but that's ok I have chicks growing out. None were fertile either

My project Lavs took forever to start laying! Out of 4, I usually get on average 2 a day (currently). So, not great, but not the worst layers. On the other hand, my EE hen lays 5/6 out of 7 days a week usually!

if your EE is anything like mine she probably is hiding the other two to three eggs each week. Last year I thought she wasnt laying until I went to go get the lawn tractor out and found about 2 dozen green eggs under it! What a little stinker. She is 4 years old and still my best layer. I'm waiting on some split chicks next year will be the year of the lavender for me.

No where to hide eggs (anymore!) Last summer she was consistently on average 6 eggs a week. Now I just need to get my Ams to do the same...

Put an ax next to the cage...

My LF BBS AMs are a little over 1 year and just started laying. I did hatch them in February ,so not the best timing on my part.
