Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Hello! I am thinking about getting some Wheaten Ameraucanas to add to my current flock. What sort of personality should one expect with a true Ameraucana? My current flock consists of Dominiques, Marans, and two Swedish Flowers. Any info is appreciated!
My White Ameraucanas are so sweet and personable that I've decided to breed them along with my Marans projects. They will invariably jump up on my back/shoulders when I go into the run and perch there. I picked up a Splash Am rooster because he was available and am now in search of BBS hatching eggs because of him, heh. He greets me any time I come near, loves attention including petting and carting around by my kids, and...um...check out the picture bleow.

This is Firecracker being given kisses from our GSD and being petted by the kids...very tolerant and mellow. I don't have a lot of experience around Ameraucanas but the ones I've had so far are charmers.

Looong way back i was playing pullet or cockerel with this Blue boy(yep, boy!) after awhile his feathering became the clear cut sign. He would have been a nicer pullet but Alas you get what you get.

There quite stable in personality, mine fly out and forage most days(we're winter so depending on the ick factor of the day) i can handle mine if wanted/needed, even the cockerels. Very curious birds and definitely outgoing, i haven't found any overly aggressive but they hold their own mine run about the duck area often so bang up against BIG birds(scovies, pekin, buffs etc)

Hello everyone! This is Gylfie:

She's a little sweetie. She's three years old, and still lays every day!

I was wondering if anyone thought she could be a good show bird. If no, could you tell me why? (bad conformation, any disqualifying features, ect.)

Here are a few more pics, all taken today (Her beard and muffs are wet, though, because it was still dewy. They're normally much fluffier):

Here's one of her as a chick, in case that does anything:

She's lovely! but yes an EE i have some like her, lovely birds though!

I am on day 19 of hatching my very first batch of chicks from my Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana flock. The eggs have started to rock back and forth slightly and I think they are getting in position to hatch. I'm so excited!!! Fingers crossed that I get a good hatch rate. I love my Ameraucana chickens!

I am incubating some Ameraucanas from a local breeder. Other than the two free Roos she gave us when we were there, these eggs will hatch our first Ameraucanas and we are very excited. We are on Day 8 and so far have 8 Ameraucana chicks developing well.

Take pictures. I am not planning on hatches until the middle of march. Can't wait though. Love the little chickies.
