Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Is there a thread for discussing which hatcheries DO sell pure Ameraucanas as advertised? Maybe we can help the problem by supporting businesses that are doing it right. I personally prefer to go directly to a breeder and view the adult flock but that is not always an option for everyone depending on how far a reputable breeder may be - I think it would be helpful to share some success stories as well.
The only big hatchery that has true Ameraucana is Meyer. They have Blue/Black/Splash. They also have Easter Eggers, and sell them as such. MyPetChicken.com offer 'Blue' Ameraucana, but they source theirs from Meyer.
Cackle only sells Easter Eggers, and markets them as Easter Eggers.
There isn't a single big hatchery that sells true Araucana.

I know there are some hatcheries/brokers that are claiming they have true Ameraucanas and they distinguish them as Ameraucanas and NOT EEs and their price reflects the difference. This past season however these hatcheries and brokers advertised NOT AVAILABLE so the best purchase IMO is still through a private breeder. I got two Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas from a show breeder and one shipped juvenile promptly died. The surviving sister is lovely but she only layed for about 4 or 5 months pretty sky blue eggs and then only layed 3 eggs in her second year and hasn't layed another egg since. That breeder is discontinuing Amer's to concentrate on the tufted gene Araucanas instead. Later I ordered a Blue Ameraucana from a different breeder and although the 4-mo-old bird was gorgeous she was shipped to us ill and the vet couldn't save her. What a waste going through THAT private breeder! I haven't had luck with Ameraucanas. We love the personality of our Amer and if she wasn't kind to her flockmates I might've re-homed her but we keep her around for her sweetness gene!

My friend had an EE that didn't lay at all the 2nd year but recently started laying again so who knows -- maybe my Amer slacker will lay again one day?

Fancy, my BBS Ameraucana, and her sister, Jolene, in the back. She's the prettiest AM I've ever had!! Excited to get eggs from her in the spring!

I have a thread in Random Ramblings that covers all 3 :gig
I got lucky with my Ams, but screwed with my BCM. I have wasted a year and hundreds of dollars on a flock that will all be culled when I find good stock

Not too hard, in this day and age, to combine all three. Why, you could name just one politician, in some cases, and have all three subjects included! :)
