Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

My Wheatons...girls are from Pips and Peeps, and the roo is from Peachick.  He looks much fuller now.

very pretty

Any good breeders near Missouri? @scflock where can you order some?

I'm not selling yet, but I got them as live chicks from Paul Smith of Texas. If you look up the Ameraucana Breeders Club and search his name, it will give his email address. That's how I contacted him. There's usually a waiting list for his, but they are worth the wait

My rooster and pullet started dull, and I thought it would be an almost lavender look, but as they get older, the darker feathers are coming in and I love them. It really makes his tail stand out
Oh he's a beauty. I am so excited for mine. I feel like March can't come fast enough.

Yeah, he watermarks all of his pictures. Didn't you say you saw it on Facebook or eBay?
eBay, yep...
I looked him or her up last night on Facebook. There are some stunning birds in the photos
Birds are beautiful... my issue is, if they're not correct but selling them as if they are then that is a dishonesty... makes me leery of one cuz you can't tell how much they're not being truthful about... and that breed is very dependent on it's original blood...
Big news!!!! :celebrate :weee The kitchen light gives it a bit of a greenish hue, but it's actually a very light blue, similar to my EEs. I was hoping for a little darker, but the birds are so good, I'll take it. I have 8 hens, so maybe I will get a little more variety. I will try to get a picture in the sunlight later to show the actual color
It's about time!!! :celebrate :yesss: :woot
There are some really good members on this thread that will help you. I'm new to AMs myself, so I have learned a lot from Ravyn, Jerry, and others. Plus, it's always fun to show off your birds and see what others have done. Ravyn has a black pullet that I am in :love with
I was starting to think she was gonna start before yours... :gig

I was so excited to get them, was so excited to watch them grow, have been dying to get my first egg, and now I'm dying to get 2 dozen within 10 days so I can pop them in the incubator

I couldn't figure it out, so I got to wondering and looked back at my notes. I've been saying all along they hatched in early May. It was early June

They are right on schedule. I hope to be setting eggs by New Years, and if they start hatching well, I really am interested to see a cross of my birds with that fat pullet of yours

Lastly, with any of these hold there own with RIR?

I don't ship chicks, but I do ship eggs. However, if you aren't in a hurry and want to make a drive in the spring, I usually do hatch chicks in spring for sale. I'm not far on the other side of the southwest Missouri border.
