He says the blues and blacks lay the biggest bluest and most eggs.I don't know about the splash. He says the Wheaten/blue Wheatens lay smaller eggs then the blues and blacks. The Wheatens start out a nice blue but quickly change to an off white. My husband is more for the Wheaten/blue Wheatens. They are pretty! I try to make the hubby happy! Not sure he would be happy if they gave us three eggs a year! lol For me I like the BBS! My problem now is I have Two pens and need 4 for my birds plus I need one for my bunny.The third pen is going to get done soon. IF I JUST HAD TWO MORE PENS!!!!! lol

I think my lavender roo and three hens will end up in my chicken tractor!

Interesting... I hatched out about 250 chicks last year and I only had 4 hens - all wheaten/blue wheaten. I only hatched from early March to May 29 and I was setting weekly, between 20-25 eggs. I had one BCM under a wheaten cock and I hatched out about 50 olive eggers last year, too.

Sylvester, I'm sorry you've had such a rough time with your birds, but you keep re-posting this same information over and over. We get it - you don't like Ameraucanas for production birds, and now you've found something "sweet friendlier calmer outgoing". So why keep posting? Why are you still even in the Ameraucana group if you're not looking to buy anymore, you're not trying to breed them or show them, in fact, at this point, you really only want to put them down.

Here is a picture I posted before . There are 4 each of Legbat , EE and Ameraucana . Mixed around . Legbar are the lighter color and EE more green tint .

The 8 on the left are from the black pullet from your eggs, and the 4 on the right from one of my hens... pullets eggs size is increasing nicely and she lays great!

And this is a Legbar egg I just got yesterday... I don't use lights so they just started back up again, lol...

Wow! I love my birds! It just kinda scared me when I read 3 eggs a year and I thought $600.00 in feed! lol Thats $200.00 an egg! lol

Laughing..... all I have is Rees. I can't wait to see my first eggs. Don't care if they are mint or blue. I have plenty of blue eggs from the Ams. I was just curious....... very pretty!

I always sift info and lean towards what I hear from more sources rather than a single, lol... I even tell people that ask me questions to talk to others with more experience as well since I'm only human and can be wrong sometimes too...
