I know what you mean! This is my first purebred order! I've got 8 blue wheatens coming, 7 blacks, & 5 blues. I'm dividing them by color, will pick my best cockerels this Fall for the ladies! WITH ALOT OF HELP FROM MY FRIENDS HERE!! My hubby is gonna build 3 divisions in 1 large pen for these guys I jusI cant wait to get mine. March 6 is my lucky day!Thank you so much. They were Paul Smith chicks and they are now two years old. I have two black hens, three splash hens, 2 blue, 3 BW and a Lav. I have two blue roos, a Lav roo and unfortunately a miscolored BW roo that I cannot use to breed. Two of the BW hens came from eggs I got from MRS BachBach last year. I had a horrible hatching year and I am not sure I will even try this year. My eggs, others eggs, two incubators and still very disappointing. Then when I got a half decent hatch, I left to go to a Family Reunion over the weekend and came home to my first ever Coccidiosis outbreak with my 2 month old chicks and lost half of them. I have had chickens for about 15 years and never had this problem.
The Splash are my favorite, then the Lavs color wise. Temperament, the BWs easily are the best. They talk to me when I come to feed them. I have toyed with the idea of ordering more this year, you know to get my BW flock going, my Lav flock going......get a black roo maybe, or even a BW roo would be outstanding. Anything to justify more chicks.
