Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

This picture of the blue is the one that climbs up my arm and sits on my shoulder. Sorry the pictures are not good!

& #5 could be either from the photo not a good enough close up.

Cute chicks, marchick... I'm not even gonna guess though... mine did not play by the 1 or 3 rows rule... according to that I shoulda had all cockerels, and they all turned out pullets! :gig

Well , that just blew my theory! Lol! The smallest variation can make all the difference! You got a pleasant surprise

Actually my little hand breeder chick had a smooth comb looked like a girl the comb did. From day 1 the feet were larger too. So this chick was real beefy with a smaller comb & the other wasn't as masculine but had a much bigger comb. My females combs were more yellowish colored also.

My guess would have been the wider combs roosters!

Meet Penny. She's an Easter Egger, but she's had a three row comb since she hatched. I knew she was a pullet for sure, because she is also a black sexlink.

Pullets with a correct pea comb should have three rows, just like the boys.

Well! I am going to say they are all hens until they crow!!!! Maybe even after!

denial! Well some hens crow! If I have 34 crowing hens! I will start to worry!
