Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Can anyone help me ? I got six baby ameraucana and would really like to know if anyone knows how to sex them

You won't be able to post pictures until you have 10 (20??) posts.

Unless they were sold as a specific color of Ameraucana, they are Easter Eggers. There is a whole thread specifically on sexing EEs:

But you really can't tell gender until they are minimally 4 weeks old and generally speaking that would only be if it is a really early maturing boy. Figure 8 to 12 weeks and again, the "it IS a ..." answer is frequently "boy". The lack of "boyness" doesn't always mean girl and some girls will have a bit larger comb than a boy of the same age.

The next batch with blues in it will hatch on the 11th, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm hoping so, too, for you. :fl

I just realized something - I don't use emoticons, then you come back and I've used several in the last three posts.  You're a bad influence! :lau

Can't wait to see the next set of blues!

Yep, he is a awful bad influence...

It will get better. I'm taking a note from you and dropping mine

Who are you and what'd you do with SC???

Another pullet. :)

Music to my ears!!!! Thank you Susan!! That means I have 2 females not sure if they're blue Wheaton or wheaten but I'm just thrilled!
2 pullets is better than 1! Thank goodness!

I will not venture a guess on any AMs yet. I only have 1 year experience with BBS, and none with any other colors, so I just have to wait until they crow

Hopefully these 2 won't crow!
