This is my first time with Americaunas. I bought hatching eggs from someone listed on one of the Americaunas association sites that was within driving distance. I'm so looking forward to these guys and gals growing up!

They look like they were about 8 to 10 weeks old, going by their size compared to the lattice. That would put them at about 11 to 13 weeks. Which is too young for a pullet to have a pink comb, and too young for a slower to mature cockerel to have visible male feathering.
Given the dark splashes of blue are primarily on the wing/shoulder area, it's likely you have slow to mature cockerel.

Thank you so much!! I am kind of glad that one of them is a Roo. I can't wait for him to mature. I have seen others pictures of hatching eggs so now I won't have to find a Roo to borrow. Such fun. Thanks again for your help.

Can anyone tell if this rooster is a Blue wheaten Ameraucana? I got him for free on CL when he was 6 weeks old. The lady said she bought pure Ameraucana chicks from a local breeder but couldnt keep a rooster. I know he has the blue egg gene, just curious to get a 'second opinion'. :)

I see yellowish legs and that coloring isn't quite right for wheaten. He's an Easter Egger.

He has dark gray legs, I dont have a good picture though. He's also missing some of his beard due to a rooster fight (neighbor can't seem to contain their animals) the other day. I think he's a mix based on the color of his feathers but just wasn't sure. Thanks for the reply!

He looks like mine that I got as a day old chick from a fabulous breeder, but he just did not color out correctly. As someone else suggested, I call him my blue tailed red. He resides in the brown egg layer group. If I wanted, I could raise some olive eggers. He came from wheaten/bw wheaten stock. Mine does have a pea comb and this one looks like he has a single comb.
