Pick one of the big black cockerels and start calling him Sammy...
I think they are beautiful. Mine are still in a brooder. I have been taking them outside to a playpen of sorts but soon they will be going to their coop. I'm a bit over protective. LolLovely, mine are from 2/29 I guess but still looking a little like ragamuffins. I guess the same age as the four young ones in this pen.Yesterday was the first day I was able to put chicks outside in the "new" (read "old", but redone) grow out pen. I am getting such a kick out of going out there and just sitting and watching them, so I thought I'd share a few pics. The wheatens/blue wheatens and 4 of the smaller blacks hatched 2/29. The other five blacks hatched 2/18. I called them, not sure if they'd come or not since they have this big area to play in, but here they all cameMy lone little blue wheaten pullet out of that hatch
And, one of the two blue wheaten cockerels from that hatch
The blue wheaten pullet and one of the black pullets, seeing whether I have treats or not
and, deciding I do
and, a couple of other misc. pics...

They're beautiful Susan!

Blue Wheaten breedings follow the same rules as Blue breedings. There is always going to be a chance for Blacks/Wheatens and Splash/Splash Wheaten. It's the nature of the gene.Wow! Then I probably only have 1 blue wheaten... So I would need to keep the blue wheaten cockerel if I want to get any blue wheatens? If he breeds with Eve (purple backdrop shot) can they produce blue wheaten offspring? That's kinda disappointing since I ordered all blue wheatens..
I have my eye on one for you now...but there's plenty more to pick from. I want to wait til about June-July timeframe, to make sure you're getting a good one!
So, Sammy is the name, huh? I'll try to remember that...but we all know how my memory is. lol
Of course my wheaten/blue wheatens that you threw in extra are very beautiful. LOL....... my bonus birds were a beautiful trio of W/BW..... what more could you ask for.Yes, yours are also from the 2/29 hatch. The wheaten/blue wheatens in these pics and 4 of the smaller blacks are from that same hatch.
