Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

You can try http://www.onceinabluemoonfarmstead.com/ .  She is in TN and she says she ships through August.  I have some W/BW and Lavs coming in late June.  She is part of this group and a Lav thread, but have not seen her post in a while.  Probably because she's been busy with hatching season along with being a wife, mother and farmer!

Thanks for the shout out! You are exactly right. I have been busy chasing chickens, our five year old twins and our one year old.

Lol! I changed my backyardchickens username to reflect our farm name this week. I follow these threads but I don't comment very often.

I'm looking forward to sending some babies your way!!!

I'm a little obsessed with sharing pics right now..... Hope you don't mind. ^_^ Basil only wants to show me his butt. Cocoa Puff is growing up nicely. The difference in size between 3.5 weeks and 7.5 weeks Sage is the shyest little girl. Her sweet little face! More of Basil's butt. Silly boy
Love the pictures! I like the splash also! They are all so cute!
They are so cute! I need to get some pics of mine! They are about 2 months old now.

Your Ameraucana are most likely Easter Eggers.

...thats what they were sold to me as, "Amerauana pullets" I hope they are truely all girls
They are one of the more difficult for hatcheries to sex accurately. True Ameraucana always have a color/variety specified. If no color is specified, they are almost always going to be Easter Eggers. Nothing wrong with Easter Eggers. I personally prefer them, to the Ameraucana. Really love all the diversity, and how each one is just a bit different. It's just that they are not Ameraucana. Easter Eggers really deserve their own label and the hatcheries and feed stores really should realize that.
