As my little celadon covey has matured, I've noticed fewer lay reliably. It could be winter, but I do have some supplemental light and the top covey with varied color quail are still at about 75% production from their high point. Is it common for celadon to lay less overall? Less reliable layers?

In my experience, it depends on the line. They often lay more fragile eggs, but the current line that I have from Myshire have produced strong eggs and a lot of eggs. The eggs are smaller than most, though.

My previous line (that got wiped out when someone vandalized my greenhouse) had fragile shells, but normal sized eggs. They also laid consistently.
