Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Here's a few pictures of our girls. I'm not sure if they're Ameraucana or Easter egger mutts.

Yes, these are Easter egger mutts (a bird with a questionable pedigree and that isn't bred to meet an SOP). I am willing to bet that they will have a sweet temperament and the ladies will give you a very colorful egg basket.

Congrats on your chickens! They are so addictive!

Thanks! I was pretty sure they were Easter Eggers from other posts and pictures I've researched on byc. The Easter Eggers are calm and quiet compared to my other breeds. I still haven't seen any eggs in the nesting box but they're a little young to be laying.

Maybe they will lay some colorful eggs for you soon! It always feels like Christmas morning when I find a pullets first egg. Never gets old!

I'm definitely anxious to see how things turn out. I'm hoping for a nice variety of size and colors with how many different breeds we went with. Tomorrow is going to feel like Christmas because I'm expecting some Polish chicks in the mail!

You'all have no idea how excited I am to announce that I am going to bring home a GORGEOUS pure Ameraucana in about a week. His dad is from the Paul Smith line I've been hearing about here on BYC, and the mom is from Susan Mouw's line in Aiken SC. Here is a picture of my boy and his parents. He was hatched on Feb 29 this year, so still a bit of filling out to go, but I can tell that he will be gorgeous just like his father.

Say hello to Garfunkel. He is in quarantine, so no girlfriends yet, but he sure does talk up a storm! He did so much taking one day, that it started to thunder.

I love his colors.
