Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Say hello to Goldie, a blue wheaten.... she'll be Garfunkel's lady after she passes quarantine (which I'm sure she will). To be honest, I used to the buff (and similar looking colors like wheaten) weren't so pretty. But after seeing Goldie in person I have totally changed my mind.

Edit: I forgot to mention... this beauty came from Susan Mouw's breeding program.

Well, we were going to wait until the T-shirt was designed, but I'm about to burst and can't stand it.

For the first time, as far as we can document, the Ameraucana Breeders Club is nearing 100 new members since the first of the year! We're not telling just how close, but ...it's close. real close..

So, the Board huddled together to talk about how to honor this historical moment and we've decided....

The 100th New Member, since 1/1/16, will receive a T-shirt with an awesome graphic (fireworks, confetti, streamers - the works), the ABC logo and YOUR NAME as the 100th New Member for 2016!

Working on that design now, so we'll show a picture in a few days.

If you hurry - you could be the winner of that T-shirt.

Of course, all new members are also entered in the New Member Drawing for the EcoGlo 20 Brooder Heater, too! Just in case you don't know where to enter: http://ameraucanabreedersclub.org/membership.html

And, in case you miss your opportunity - just a hint - The ABC is also approaching 300 active members for the first time in our history! I'm pretty sure the Board will want to commemorate that one too. ;)

Yay! So glad to hear this. As a newbie to this particular breed, it's great to have this experienced group of people to help you understand specific issues on breeding and just general knowledge about Ameraucanas. Everyone is so friendly and eager to help in answering questions. Glad I joined.

Samouw, They are getting big! Here are some pictures!

I like that blue wheaten cockerel in the first pic! and the blue wheaten pullet in the third pic. I think the fourth pic gal has some good coloring, but she was probably too hot to post for you. :)

Very nice!
