Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I'm not disagreein about the rules but I've done this many times and never been reprimanded. Plus nothing more uncomfortable then getting reprimanded by another user. I'm not trying to argue but I just think it's misplaced help. Better to let the mods say something privately if they even will then someone else do it in front of everyone. Of coarse maybe this is just my preference. I just know that's how I would feel and I don't see this thing ever pointed out in other threads..

But they don't just act privately, it does get moderated publicly as well... and if users aren't aware of what is acceptable and attempt to argue with a mod, then they risk getting a temporary or even permanent ban... I'd rather get a friendly warning than a full slap on the wrist from them...

Plus mods expect OP's or acting OP's to keep threads within BYC rules first... that's part of the responsibility of being involved in active threads...

And it only takes a single person to flag for it to become an issue...

So sorry everyone I apologize.

No need to apologize at all... nobody wants for you to get an official issue... :)

If no one flags it and it isn't a big FOR SALE ad chances are you are OK as you said about your past experiences. There are posts promoting club merchandise in this thread and it is related to the breed topic, so it seems to fly. Members ask where to buy eggs and birds here and we recommend our Ameraucana Directory that lists many sellers, so it gets by.
Let the moderators do the policing, since it is their job and members can hit the flag if they want to and keep it private as you say.

Ok..now that we've beaten that dead horse to a pulp :)...let's get back to Ameraucanas.

Who's going to what shows this fall?? I am planning on making my first show a small one near me at the end of October, since I'm sacrificing the early October shows for health reason. Who else?

I haven't been able to go the last 2 years due to things coming up, but I really want to go to the Knoxville one in early Dec... other than that, I'm really not sure if we have others in our area, lol...

You're going to Knoxville?? Oh how cool! I am weighing either Knoxville or driving cross country to Shawnee...we'll see how I'm doing after the "recovery", but I'd really like to make Knoxville.

That would be awesome!! Would love to see you and cheer your birds on!

We can be each other's cheering squads! Just don't ask me to do any cartwheels. ;)

So...who else is planning to make that brave advance into the show venues?

I'm a backyard keeper only. Not into showing. My kids are older and such. But intrigued by quality birds and the process of selection for quality birds. I've been trying to add Ameraucanas to my flock for the last year or two. A few tries with a favorite breeder. But then happened to find another that has a cabin near us! I'm thrilled to add these two blue and one lavender Ameraucanas. We're in love and excited for their potential.
