Just got a new Android and hoping I can actually submit photos from my mobile device to the forums again! Things look OK from this end. These are my black AM rooster, Orion, and one of my blue AM hens, Jolene. We are currently not getting any eggs but we have 5 hens and two roosters currently, so I know that's not helping us start back up any more quickly for sure!

You know I love him, but know his faults as well, lol... bit high in the comb, tail angle is a bit low... lovely body proportions... ;)

I like her, bit on the light side for me, but would love to see how chicks from them turn out...

@samouw would you mind chiming in on him, please? Anything else I missed?

You've covered the same things I would have mentioned. I do see a bit of discoloration in the hackles, but that could just be the lighting.

Hard to tell much from that angle with the hen. I could see more with a profile pic. :)

Thank you! :D

I can say with full confidence that it's the lighting on his hackles... and agree about the hen, I couldn't say much there, lol... :)

I need to get darker blues with more even coloring, it's slow going, but I'm excited for spring! Thanks, @ravynfallen !

What breed are these girls? In November we received these two girls because the rooster of their flock had been so rough with them their feathers were almost 60% missing. They have healed nicely. But what breedare they?

They're very pretty Easter Eggers... should give you some pretty colored eggs...

It can be very hard to tell from a picture to determine whether a bird is a true Ameraucana or not. I'm assuming these are bantams, just from the stance and certain telltale signs. They could be true blue Ameraucanas, with significant leakage or they could be Easter Eggers.

Either way, they would not be suitable for a breeding program of true Ameraucanas. :)
