Now I'm really confused. Ha! I have some birds that are more colourful. Really I'm looking at the colour of their feathers coming out on their chest... cream vs coloured. Maybe you can take a look at my wheatens and take a guess at gender and blue or not? Total amateur here.

Chick 1: think this is a wheaten roo. Big feet, dark colouring - acts like a roo.

Chick 2: think this one is a blue roo? Colourful like chick 1 but no black. Coloured feathers on chest.

Chick 3: not totally sure? But white/cream chest feathers. Maybe pullet. Maybe wishful thinking?

Chick 4: also not sure. Slightly lighter than chick 3 but Similar to chick 3. Hoping pullet.

Chick 5: think this is a blue pullet. Smaller than the rest and very light - has always been light.

To assess gender well need to know age (in weeks is best) and see a full body photo taken from the side

You really cant judge sex on these birds till after 10 weeks old or older.
Correct term is Self Blue not lavender by APA.

Been a while since I've posted. I work in a life skills classroom, and we hatched eggs, the kids adored it! The local paper even came out to do a story (small, small town haha) anywho, had to share my babies that hatched I happened to have a broody black AM who gladly took them in lol

Dunlap Hatchery says she is an Ameraucana. Why do you say Easter Egger?

Directly from the Dunlap Hatchery breed description for their Ameraucana.
They have misrepresented Easter Eggers. True Ameraucana only lay blue eggs, and only come in a handful of colorations.
