Is there an average age that Ameraucanas start to lay? Mine are about 22 weeks.

Ha ha the check is in the Mail my Rooster is also a res champion from Whitmore Farms. I will be getting one blue and one black pullet.

Congratulations Henry! I'm glad you decided to go with your gut. This summer I paid around $80 just in shipping for 2 of John Blehm's Standard Lavender roosters, and I don't regret a penny of it. I just tightened my belt that week, but that was a good thing too, lol!

I've misplaced my battery charger for my camera, so I don't have any more recent ones than what you've probably already seen.

This project is going to be such a loooong time in the making. I've only gotten one pretty good male so far (but I'm not hatching a lot), and he's just now starting to get a few saddle feathers in, so it will be a while. I wish I could find that charger! If something should happen to him (ohhh, I hope not), it's back to square one!
