Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Ok I just went through all of my Ameraucana flock because I am not feeling well and I am working on college essays instead of at school and I needed a break. I am really excited to get chicks and have people hatch these eggs they should be really nice birds! I am so happy with my flock the boy is very nice the one problem I can see with him is that his back might be a tad to long but not very much. Oh the pullets they make up for him

They all have that fun rounded ameraucana shape! All of the birds have correct slate leg coloring. All of them have beautiful huge beards! Nice toe spacing and nice irridescent black coloring with no purble only green sheen to their feathers. And there eyes are all the correct color to. I am getting pretty blue eggs from the older hens to now

I am really really happy with these guys and I can't wait to add the Paul Smith pullets to the mix they should be here any minuet. My mom or I will go pick them up from the PO which should be funny I bet the Baltimore post office doesn't see very many live bird shippments

Basically I am just procrastinating but I wanted to post to tell you about it and waste even more time.

Can't wait to see pics of the new ones!!! I know when I got mine, the whole PO was laughing when I got there because the driver that brought them from the airport forgot they were in the truck, until the roo crowed and scared her so bad she nearly ran off the road!!

I can just picture it to be honest in Baltimore its not hard to fine people who have never seen a live chicken so maybe we got one of those drivers who will just be freaking out. Hopefully I will be able to go pick them up at the PO though instead of having them brought here we will see they are supposed to call when the birds come. I am just to distracted

I was just outside with the birds who are freenranging and my basset hound is guarding them

its totatlly ridiculous looking. Also they are really started warming up to me now the rooster follows me around and so do all the hens someone should have taken a picture they practiacally tried to follow me into the house.

Well I am off for a bit to finish the apps they are due this afternoon! Ahh

are these ameraucanas?? they were sold to me as such (at 7 weeks), and the 2 black pullets appear to be actual ameraucanas to me but idk, im also unsure about the roo, any ideas??. there is a 3rd pullet who i only have one bad photo of but she is deffinatly NOT an ameraucana (laying brown eggs, no bear/muff, wrong color etc) so im wondering if the roo is not as well? or if any of them are? i dont know enough about them but i think the roo is a ee (shouldnt the roo be a solid color as well if he was?)

The two black girls look to be ameraucana to me. The rooster isn't he might be and EE he has cool coloring though.

that is what is suspected, o well hes very pretty so he can stay...for now, i might try to find a black ameraucana rooster in the spring the replace him with.

quality wise how do the pullets look? these are from 2 months ago, so i should get some new ones to post to

unfortunatly i cant get a hold of the person we got them from to find out about lineage as we got them at a swap meet!

They look alright to me. The one in the back of the first picture has a gypse face (dark comb) but thats not to big an issue. From what I can see they have the right eye and leg coloring so thats good. I can't really tell type and I am defently not an expert.
