ive never heard of this but than again im no expert lol... i would breed him back to his mom or sisters and see if you could get him to breed true... if you want another breeding project try to start a Mottled Americana color... if you dont want to try to sell him to some one that does... he could be worth some money... he looks like a pretty nice bird IMO lol
I think I've heard of this popping up in lav/split orps as well.
Well, my bantam Ameraucanas finally started laying somewhat regularly, but I was really disappointed with their egg color....until I had a major egg-washing fest today, and had them side-by-side with my GREEN EE eggs. Low and behold they ARE blue! haa haa haa. I feel like such a dork! They are just so light, I thought they were too "minty" looking!
Edited to add a pic...the eggs in question are in the lower left corner of the photo...
Ok so to kick off 2010 I bought some white and wheaten/BW to help fill my incubator. I am setting my F1 eggs from my breeding pen on thursday (I think)....I'm so excited my project has official begun. Ohh I bought some marans also
.....it's for the kids
. They've wanted chocolate eggs for over a year now and since this hatch will be right about thier birthday I finally gave in. They really had to beg...lol
