Please indulge me and forgive me.

I had to post one more picture of Victor. This one is from today. He's just so...Shiny and gorgeous!

But this photo definitely shows that black in the hackle feathers that was mentioned.

He certainly is beautiful! Can't wait to get my Blue Wheatens. . . Some of my family think the roos are ugly with that color though. I told em if you want a true, rich, good blue egg - You gotta live with them.

Never, ever, have I heard such a backwards notion. These must be the same people who think that hairless cats are pretty.

WOW that is hilarious, because they do!!

I love this picture - taken the first hour of introducing my two new ameraucanas with my easter egger babies (like they discovered a long lost twin). The splash on the right is an ameraucana (mostly white with a few black spots), while the one on the left is a splash EE (she has many different shades of grey & black in her feathering)

EE - pic shows the different shades - very pretty in person

The two new ameracuanas - not the best pic, but you can see the difference in the amount of spots between the two

I had a splash orp and her coloring was very different from both of these birds - not much black or spotting at tall

There definitely is quite a bit of difference in what a splash may look like.
