Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I never had a reason to become a self blue projecteer too, in either my Orps or my Ameraucanas. I just had some weird birds pop out of a test hatch I had and was told by one he was a self blue. And another chick from the same duo has tufts and looks like he may grow a beard. And at such a young age. He was just hatched last Sunday. So, what to do? I say do some more investgating. More test hatches. I am not into selling. I have 17 purebred pens. And my number 18 pen in the very back of my yard will be the tesing grounds. Nothing leaves my yard alive is my chicken saying. For fun only.

Exactly my point.

Unfortunately that horse has left the barn so to say. The other issue is the black/lav splits floating around out there. No way to know if a black is carrying lav. Especially if you have a few escape artists. dak

Thank you all so much for showing me the pics of the blues and lavenders. So now I think I know and can tell, because that is truly a fairly obvious difference.

I think I like the lavenders better.

But I do not have any.

Just, um, blues and black and splits.

I do have some nice Wheatens. You can tell them so easily!
