I just got my first egg from one of the girls from your splitxsplit pen....she'll be six months old on the 15th.

Here's what is in with her....I hope your girls can help these tails

Mid-season I want to flip flop my pens and put them in with this guy

I think this is funny; here's his baby picture. I know it's him because he didn't have a tail for what seemed like the longest. I almost gave him away early on because I thought there was something wrong with him. Then he ends up having the best tail of the group.

This spring I'll only be pairing BW X BW, I'm gonna go crazy waiting for them to feather out so I can tell what I've got!

I ordered them from John Blehm. I won't be getting them until spring, so it's going to be quite a wait because I'm really excited. I just hatched 3 black copper marans, so at least I will have those to look after until my new chicks arrive.

I just finished my "adaptive re-use" project. Well, it's not quite finished, but it is ready for my laying hens. It is an antique horsedrawn blacksmith wagon that I have converted into a chicken coop. It has turned out rather nicely, and I think it will make a great comfortable house for my girls.
