Where does Wheaton, Blue Wheaton, Blue Wheaton Splash, fit in here? It's not on ABC. Experts?

wheaten is like black
blue wheaten is like blue
splash wheaten is like splash
Genetically for estimations on percentages of offsprings' color, it follows the same guidelines as above.
For example, if you have a wheaten roo over a blue wheaten hen, you'll expect 50% wheaten & 50% blue wheaten offspring.
(I always have to draw a punnet square to get it straight in my mind - I'm very visual & hands-on.)

They're very likely to be quite the sweeties regardless of gender

In my experience, blue and black Am's are the sweetest of them, with Buffs following pretty closely behind. As for stock up there, not sure. But in terms of sexing - Look for an excessive amount of green sheen (males) or a redder, bigger comb at 4 weeks on (males)

By the way - Love that you have Cane Corsos.

Thanks, my avater is my male Beans at 6weeks.
I'll watch out for those characteristics.....it really doesn't matter cuz i'm keeping them regardless. Just means I'll have to get more eggs and hope for pullets

I went to the Ameraucana Club website. They have a breeders list there. It is in alphabetical order it wasn't difficult to scan through the list to find the breeders in my area or that dealed with the variety that I wanted.. I just emailed each one & discussed what I was looking for & now have dozens & dozens of eggs coming.

I saw one member from FL that raises lavenders going. From the chit chat though it looks like all her chicks are spoken for by someone that was supposed to be buying chicks from me.

I know- I'm a little salty because it messes up our whole plan. More lavs for me I guess!
The show is probably going to be PACKED because of all the marans business. Plus it's almost spring and all the chicken people seem to be getting the itch- I know I have it!

Here are pics of my lavs & splits - they hatched this past weekend. A couple of the lavs still have hatch goo on them -- any one have tips on how to get it off? Warm water didn't work very well.

Feel free to critique so far. The lav second from right with the orange leg band really has practically no muff/beard, so my best hope is that it's a girl and can just be added to my laying flock.

The split that is second from left has much more black in the face & legs -- any ideas here?

Thanks,
Deanna
