To the person who asked what lavs look like in real life, I have posted lots of pics on this forum and NONE have ever been edited in any way shape or fashion beyond cropping the photo down to subject. Some pics show them more blue, gray, or even purple-y depending on the lighting. There are lots of pics of my birds in the auction link which I still have attached to my signature line for the time being. You can click on it and see my birds. They really look like that! I would describe it as a steel or pewter color. More gray than purple or lavender. The shade of color varies among the individuals, some being darker than others. I have one chick I'm growing out that is noticeably darker than it's coopmates, but it is still a shade of gray. Remember, this color is a relatively recent introduction in this breed and will continued to be refined over time by those who are working on it. Hope this helps.
