Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Amy is she cuckoo?

See- I am not getting my notifications- they just show up randomly. I never even saw this. Do replies show up unconsecutively?

Yes- she doesn't look cuckoo yet, but the same thing happened with my delaware x rocks. The girls took forever to show it. So hoping for a boy soon so I can document the differences. Can you imagine the dark lav roo tailfeathers with stripes? Aaaaaahhhh!

Just marking my spot here. I got a beautiful lav chick from bargain. Darklegs, full muffs and beard even for a chick! And gorgeous.

Subscriptions work a bit differently on the new format. Look at the upper right part of your screen, below the tabs, for the word "Subscriptions" (under your user name and New Messages). Click on that. You have a gazillion options there for how you want to handle your subscriptions - including this thread. You can also change them all at the same time.

In fairness, this thread has moved slowly on occasion before the change as well. I've seen most of the regulars here and there on the various threads since the change, including Jean. It is also easy to find this thread - once you know how to navigate on the new forum. It will probably be easier for the newbies because they never got used to the old forum!! We're still listed under in "Breeds, Genetics, Showing" as we always has been.

Change is never easy but this one HAD to be because of how big and busy BYC has become. Now that I've had a few days to hunt around, I'm LOVING the new format. So much more control over what and how I post. Hang in there folks! And if you can't find something - ask questions. Loads of folks eager to help - and probably also lots of others that appreciate you've asked the question!!!!!

Oh my god I am such an ***!!!! I took the down blankets off the bators to check the temp, and there were 3 chicks hopping around IN THE WRONG BATOR! crawling all over the eggs in the turner. I took the wrong ones out to lock down.

So far I have 4 lav and 1 regular cuckoo out. Not bad odds- but I hope I get another cuckoo or two. I have been giving all the extra chicks away and have somebody with little kids waiting this time.

I still can't believe I put the wrong eggs in the hatcher. Duh.

I have a question about Bantam Ameraucana's I have a white pair I won at Ohio National Poultry Show, I also hatched some lavender chicks. Can these two be bred together, and if so what colors could I get? Thanks Michele
