based on the color combos I'd say it was the blue rooster with the blue hen.

the only thing that is throwing me off is the heavy yellow color.... All my splashes are more on the blue/grayish tints not yellow tints

It might be the fav's.... a bit young but when you have many roosters in the same pen sometimes the young one's will not crow even when they are mature.

Just wait till it feathers out and you will know

Splash chicks usually at my house are silver looking. Yellow chicks will feather in white .... I am no help.... maybe a SPORT. I had one hatch in my Ameraucanas. It was silver lavender and yellow at hatch and feathered in all white. She is going in the EE pen now. Very cute white cheeky baby though

My Ameraucana chicks are 3 weeks old and are by far the least social of my 13 chicks. When hand feeding they stand in the background waiting for what the others drop or for me to throw it on the ground for them. Otherwise these chicks are wonderful and I think they will be the most attractive of my standard flock. Is this breed a little anti social or just my chicks?

Mine are less socialable than my other chicks have been, but I wouldnt say theyre antisocialable. They have great personalities and are very curious boogers

Goodness I wouldn't know which variety I guess. I did get them from a breeder. One's face makes me think of a hawk, One has lots of grey white and some light yellow down and my mutt ameraucana with an unknown father I think is lavender if that helps any. Thank you so much for your responses.

Thanks everyone! I don't think it is a splash chick though as I watched it hatch from a brown egg, not a blue. It came out of one of the three dark brown eggs. So, it is a either blue or black roo with a maran or welsummer hen. But...it could possibly still be the splash gene causing the same thing with the other breed though. That is something to cosider. The SF roos would have been only 3 months when these eggs were set... I really can't imagie it was them!

What color are your Marans hens? If you have a blue or blue copper Marans, and the blue roo got to her, it could end up being a splash Olive Egger (though I agree it doesn't look splash to me either, my splash chicks are always more silvery - though when you cross breeds who knows what the different genes will do to the down color...)

Just tossing things out there.... Black Copper Marans CAN carry recessive Wheaten and if one of your roos is too.... then you have a wheaten chick.
