Thanks everyone! I'll post another pic of her when she's older--what a good idea about the week-to-week photo log! That would be a great resource, especially for novices like me, if you were to make that available.

I'm really attached to this little chicken and I'm encouraged by your opinions--she's a member of the family already and we'd hate to see her go if she's a him

All these eggs have a Splash Ameraucana daddy so thought here was as good a place as any.
I have here:
black copper marans eggs (olive eggers)
black ameraucana, (for some blue ameraucana chicks)
blue andalusian (practice chicks for my laced blue ameraucana project)
Nothing like an almost full incubator!

Christie, we have very similar incubators right now! I also have some Blue Andalusian x Black Ameraucana eggs going... I can't wait to see what the babies look like. My hatch date should be 3/5.

You know those "10" wheaten eggs I won? well they sent 19!

I don't think my two broody bantams can fit all of those AND a dozen serama eggs!

I talked to a guy today and he had a game hen sitting on 38 eggs!

rofl! This picture reminds me of a few of our Bantam Cochins. They steal every egg that's laid and argue over who gets to sit on them. Awesome picture

I gotta question... 2 of my Lav hens have gotten their neck, beard and muff feathers plucked. One pretty badley. They act fine but don't look great. My other (15) hens of other breeds are all fine... Are they just getting picked on? I hope it all grows back in time. Anything I ca do to curb this behavior?
