Hi there!
I have 2 hens that I was "told" were Ameraucanas, however, I think I only have one. I'd love it if y'all could tell me if I'm correct on the one.

Lola is what I think is a white Ameraucana. I'm thinking that Fiona reddish (not sure of the coloring) EE. I've gotten bluish green almost aqua colored eggs from both of them.
I also believe that Happy (Black Frizzle Cochin Banty) and Lola got together and made me a pretty baby(yellow peep) I do see muffs, not sure if she has the beard, so maybe she's a Frizzle Ameraucana? Wondering what color she's (guessing) going to be, she's not showing a true white with her frizzle, and she has several black spots on her, one on top of her head! lol
I'm not sure who the other chick belongs to(black and pale yellow peep)... They are 12 days old today. Maybe Mac (White Laced Red Cornish Banty???)Not sure about what Mac is, other than a straight run of bantams from the feed store that bought from Ideal. Both of my roos are 6 months old, so I was totally surprised to see them playing baby making games.
Thank you for your opinions! :)

Okay, after looking around at some different things around here, loving the whole BYC website, I found something about Paint Silkies, and the chicks looked like my little yellow peep. SO, could this be either a Frizzled Paint Ameraucana orEE?

You'll get some pretty Easter Eggers... be certain to post pics of what you get.

Nice top view of one of the chicks that hatched from the Ameraucana eggs

the two "blue" chicks in the back far left and center are from my Ameraucana eggs. As a matter of fact every single chick that hatched from the Ameraucana eggs is that blue color. (There are 2 chicks that are enormous like the one on the left)

First, since it is a cochin mix that automatically makes it an EE, not an ameraucana. In order to be an Ameraucana, you would have to have two ameraucana parents (at least...even then there are circumstances under which you can get EE from two ameraucana parents).

Second, I don't know anything about the genetics of the paint color, but as far as I know it only exists in Silkies so far. The paint color I believe breeds true (if you breed two paint silkies together you get more paint silkies). Your chick appears to be white with small amount of black colored flecks. This is a very common color in chicks produced when white (can't remember if dominant or recessive) birds mate with other colors. White leghorns (at least certain strains) almost always produce chicks that look like yours. If you took two of these white chicks with black flecks and bred them together, you would get some other colors in the resulting chicks, so the color doesn't breed true. Sometimes these chicks will grow in entirely white adult feathers and by the time their chick down is gone so are all of the flecks. Then you just have a white bird.

yay look what I hatched :) :) :) I incubated a couple of the first eggs that my blue ameraucana laid after I purchesed her. They had her with an AM roo, Look Look so fluffy and cute, and STRONG this little one shocked me. Anyways this is soo exciting for me because this is my first home laid, baby! :) one more in the bator, I am worried this one wont make it :( but I set it a day after the first so will see.
