I think the point is that if you have his birds and mate them the offspring become your line and you shouldn't attribute them to anyone but you. In this case some eggs were attributed to Mr. Smith when he had no say in the mating. Neither set of those eggs were his.
Oh i see ok so when i get my chicks from him and i breed them together because i will be breeding Black to Lav to create splits to get more lav i should never mention they came from him???
If you wanted to say they were your line created from his birds you'd be doing him and yourself a favor. Live with your successes because you made the breeding choices. But, by the same token don't make a breeder live with failures because of your breeding choices. I will have my lines created from quality breeder's stock. Hope I'm saying all this correctly.

It's discouraging to hear breeders speaking this way. You ARE saying all this absolutely correctly. I can only hope more people get it. It is the only way the breed will move forward in a positive way.![]()

I need a wheaten rooster like you wouldn't believe. I have 18 hens/pullets from 2 lines and one blue wheaten rooster. I am considering buying hatching eggs just hatch a roo! Funny thing is, the last time I bought hatching eggs hoping for a cockerel, one egg hatched and it was a pullet.
