Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Does anyone know Madelynbelle personally? I've been waiting ever so patiently for her to come back online to see if she's getting eggs yet. This is going to be my last attempt at wheatens. Unfortunately I'm thinking seriously of abandoning them entirely and going with cream legbars.

Going to hijack the thread for a minute to wish our own pips&peeps, Jean, a HUGE congratulations for Best in Show at the PNPA with your Sebastopol geese. (Heard it through the Silkie grapevine ....). Truly, my heartiest congratulations!!!!

The owner says he's not sure. He can't tell if they are white or very pale yellow. It's a 2 hr drive and I don't want to make it for nothing.

Is he a true ameraucana? I've been looking for a true wheaten or blue wheaten roo but all I seem to find local are ee.

I definitely don't have the eye or experience that Jean does but my thoughts .... legs aren't convincingly the correct colour, he is seriously U shaped and he really doesn't convince me he has "substance". White fluff at the base of the tail also gets my attention. None of this says he isn't "true" Ameraucana but even me being in Canada with very little to choose from, I wouldn't be racing out to buy this boy.

Get him to send you pictures of the hens/pullets... if they are EE then he is an EE. I would not buy him... his legs are looking very green and I don't like the looks of his lower hackles.
