Hey there everyone,
another new member here. I have eight Ameraucana chickens, and I read the stickied article about them.
Now, about breeding true.
I have four Brown Reds, one Wheaten, one Blue wheaten, a Silver, and a Buff. They all have muffs and beards, small wattles, and pea-combs. They breed true, my brown red cock (a gorgeous one, mind you. He produces beautiful babies) producing a lot of wheatens and brown reds. I've gotten all APA accepted colors except one splash cockerel.
They lay blue and green eggs. My Brown Reds lay green, my others, blue. I thought this was kind of funny.
So, they're not Easter Eggers, they're Ameraucanas, yes? That article was very informative, but I was still slightly confused.
Also, I have a Brown Red female, Alexandra, and she has yellow lacing on all of her feathers. Is this normal or accepted? My other females have solid brown plumage with golden laced heads.
