Yes....I know...how lucky! Last week I went in and got 3 Golden Comets and 3 Tetra Tints because that's what they had. I had originally wanted the EE's and I just happened to go in today and there they were. Your TSC may still get them in. I'm told they usually come in closer to Easter......

The local feed store near me is getting some from Privett Hatchery on Friday. Guess what I am doing? My first chicks 1 EE and 1RIR I hope.

Well I tried that to actually GET roos lol. I went to Smith's farm store and they had GLW. I want a roo but had to buy 3 so I tried that ol wives tale trick and the even/uneven wings. I will know soon. I think I got two roos and a hen but we will see. Smiths also gets EE's, I got three very beautiful ones. I got there the day they came in..in fact we had to wait for them to put them out even lol. I already have 2 but wanted more. I love them. They are my favorite chicken breeds next to Isa browns. My favorite chicken right now is named Chipmunk. She looks white with gray smears all over kinda like a dusty ol rag. But right now still has those fluffy chipmunk cheeks. She even knows her name!

EE's are my fave!! unfortunately the leg dangly thing is an old wives tale

. However, if they JUST got the birdies in that day you can try your hand at wing sexing (same length wings= males, two different lengths=female) OR if you're brave like me, you can vent sex them right in the store and hold a little impromptu class on it in the store. lol

I walked away from the most adorable bin of TSC EEs this morning ...all of them with the cutest chipmunk stripes ....sigh.... cant risk a roo with my space limitation right now. My little ones wanted a "yellow chicklin'" anyway so we headed to the feed store for 2 BO pullets instead

Well that is not a wives tale, but can't sex any old breed that way.It has to be a slow feathering breed bred to a fast feathering breed....Its basicly cross breeding two diffrent breeds....
And yes dangeling thing is a old wives tale if hatcheries could only do it that easy.Hatcheries/Breeders would not have to hire experts, anyone could sex the chicks.
