Ameraucanas losing beard

How big is your coop and run? How many birds are in it?
I'm thinking this may be feather plucking, or over preening. Maybe they're getting feed stuck in their beards, and the others are pulling it out?
The coop is 8x8 and it’s attached to a 16x16 covered run. I am wondering the same thing about others pulling their feathers out, but I have been watching and haven’t caught them doing that at all yet.

Did yours just recently lose theirs? I know it’s normal for them to molt during the fall, but could they molt in the spring too?
I noticed that they were ENTIRELY gone last week. It was really noticeable. I started a thread on it and someone said it was over preening or something? No other feathers were missing and no signs of mites or disease. My two roosters still have theirs though.

Let me know if yours also looses her entire beard.

How many birds in that space?
Maybe try spraying some Pick-No-More on their beards. Doesn't taste too good, and the birds might stop bothering them.

I have seventeen in the space. Several are bantams. I will try the Pick-No-More! Thank you!

Based on my evening brain math, thats plenty of space for 17 birds, especially bantams. Nice setup!
I would try the pick no more, it might just be over preening. Do you feed a wet feed? Sometimes that can get stuck in their beards, and they can pick out feathers trying to clean it out.

I don’t use wet feed. I noticed today that there were several feathers in a nest box that are the size and color of their beard feathers which I find very strange! I’m starting the pick no tomorrow, so hopefully that will make a difference! Thank you

I had 2 8 month old Ameraucanas that also lost their beards feathers. No evidence of them being picked on. I suddenly lost them both. One on May 2nd and my second one today. Petunia laid her egg today and had food in her crop. No marks on her except for the missing feathers :(
