Favs-I hatched 2 roos and 2 pullets (out of 4 eggs I got from you..lol)so I need to have more pullets, I can wait..I am giving 1 of my roos to the friend of mine who wants chicks. I would like to have about 6 more pullets.

The Ameraucana- I like to start w 12 at a time and the next group will be my friend's. I told her to build seperate houses and pens for her chickens..Then I will get more after her again..

Golden Cuckoo- I have roos hatched here and I was giving 1roo to my friend but I am keeping my pullets..lol..so she needs some pullets for herself..about 6 will do for her right now..
Let me know what my total..I will come pick them up...

I hear ya about being empty nester, been that way for about 3 years now..That is why I have animals and my sewing projects- Chicken saddles and aprons on BYC to keep me busy....LOL

Hey Melissa! Will you start selling chicks for shipping?

In your opinion when someone buys any kind of poultry stock lines, would it be better to buy them from fertile eggs or day old chicks?
Is it a great risk to hatch out fertile eggs or do most of the time they all pop out?

I have pekin duck eggs right now in my bator and they all are growing...some might even pop out this week or the next, but i have candled them so i hope they do hatch soon!

I have heard duck eggs are harder to incubate than chicken eggs but not sure......are they.........?

I started my flocks from hatching eggs as they were what was available at the time.

I would love to start shipping chicks and am looking into it for spring.

I would say either way. Pick breeders you trust and do your very best to make sure all conditions are right.

The rest is up to God.

Hmm.....

I think I'd like to buy 6 pullets of the Salmon Favs and 2 roosters (how much are your roosters?)

And I'd like 6 Maran Pullets.
Also let me make sure I have this right, A free rooster with each pullet I buy? Is that right?

If I can come up with more money, I may want up to 9 pullets of each.
Just to let you know.

Also depending on the price of the Fav roo's I may want another one.
I hope I didn't confuse ya there.

My Golden Cuckoo's are developing great.I have 10 out of 12 veining at 11 days in.I am so excited.I think I may order some faverolles after the hatch!
