I have 3 full grown hens I have had them for about 2 months now. I have one buff Orpington and two Ameraucanas my buff is starting to lay an egg a day now but my Ameraucanas are not laying any eggs. I keep hearing they don't lay good in the winter could it be too early still and I'm being impatient or could there be another reason? They all eat egg maker 15% protein. Thanks

It could be the short days and it could be that they are not ready yet. You didn't say how old they are? This article breaks down the most common causes of laying:

Hope they start laying for you soon!

I'm not sure how old they are. When I got them I forgot to ask but the guy did say they were really good layers. In fact he had a lot of eggs in his laying box he didn't know about when I picked them up.

Also my rooster I have was not part of the original flock he was added when I got the 3 hens. Could this all be too much stress on them and if so what do I need to do to relieve the stress?

If you have had them for two months the stress for them is long over but dogs or other vermin could be bothering them that I do not know ...... Now about the egg laying I have had some take over 30 months and then when they start wow look out but as long as they are comfortable in their surroundings and a safe nest is available and a fake egg is always in the nest you should have some good luck .........
